Afterlight Privacy Policy
Privacy for memories, grief, and AI support.
Afterlight is designed for sensitive memorial reflection. We collect the minimum information needed to provide the service, keep original memorial assets local-first where possible, and do not sell personal memorial data.
What we collect
We may collect account information, waitlist details, memorial metadata, user-submitted text, generation event metadata, wellbeing check-ins, payment records, and support requests. The iOS app should keep original photos, audio, and video on device unless a user explicitly chooses a cloud-backed feature.
How AI providers are used
Text, voice, and symbolic image requests may be sent to configured AI providers only to generate the requested output. Prompts include safety boundaries that prevent impersonation, supernatural claims, violence, hate, illegal content, and self-harm encouragement.
Training policy
Afterlight is not designed to use private memorial memories to train public AI models. Provider settings and agreements should be configured to prevent training on user content wherever available.
Deletion
Users can request deletion of saved memories and generated content. Some billing, audit, and security records may be retained when legally required or necessary to protect the service.
