Data Deletion

Users should be able to leave with dignity.

Afterlight is built around sensitive memorial data. Users should be able to delete saved memories, scrub generated content, and request account deletion.

What can be deleted

Saved memories and generated content can be deleted through authenticated API flows. Account deletion should remove profile and memorial data where legally allowed.

What may be retained

Some billing, fraud-prevention, audit, and legal records may be retained for a limited period if required to operate the service or comply with platform/payment rules.

Local device data

Original photos, audio, and video are intended to remain on device unless a user opts into cloud features. Deleting the app or local vault may be necessary to remove local-only files.
